The World Taekwondo Cadet Championships is one of the highest levels of international competition available to Cadet athletes and brings together leading young athletes from throughout the world.

Athletes competing at this level can expect a significantly higher standard of technical ability, speed, physical conditioning and tactical awareness than is generally experienced within domestic competition.

Taekwondo New Zealand has a responsibility to ensure that athletes selected to represent New Zealand are appropriately prepared for the demands of elite international competition.

Athletes may become eligible for consideration for selection through one of the selection pathways set out in this Policy. Meeting the requirements of an applicable selection pathway does not automatically guarantee selection to the New Zealand National Cadet Team.
