2027 FISU World University Games
1-12 August 2027 Republic of Korea
Please read the attached Selection Document carefully Selection Doument Please note that all costs are estimates based on information supplied to Taekwondo New Zealand from the University & Teritary Sport New Zealand (UTSNZ), and the final amount may change based on factors out of our control.
Athletes must meet all of the following FISU athlete eligibility criteria:
Be currently enrolled and working towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institution recognised by the relevant national academic authority, or have obtained a degree or diploma from such an institution in 2026.
Be a national of the country or region they represent.
Be at least 18 and no older than 28 on 31 December 2027 (born between 1 January 1999 and 31 December 2009).
Represent the same country or region as they do in International Federation events
TNZ requirements
Hold a current and valid NZ Passport (include Passport number and expiry date)
Hold Kukkiwon Dan certification (include Kukkiwon number)
Valid GAL and GMS membership (include GAL number)
Belong to a Gold/ Silver TNZ club
Provide name of club and instructor name & phone number
Mandatory selection event: Compete at the TNZ Nationals (Oct 31) in Wellington
Pay $100 non-refundable administration fee to TNZ
Have the financial means to self-fund the indicative Games cost (estimated $6K).

Coaches must hold WT Coaching certification for poomsae/ kyorugi (include certification expiry date/ TBC)
