A NEW BEGINNING...

A new beginning has dawned for Taekwondo in New Zealand and it is a welcomed change to the recent years of uncertainty.

A new Taekwondo New Zealand (TNZ) Board has been elected with elections held and supported by World Taekwondo. The membership of World Taekwondo has been reinstated and Taekwondo New Zealand is once again recognised as the sole governing body of Taekwondo in New Zealand.

With 4 years of work to catch up on, the new governing body is busy putting measures in place to benefit its members including, various committees to oversee Kyorugi, Poomsae, Refereeing and Judging as well as Development seminars, A National High Performance programme is also under construction and will provide a pathway for members to strive toward their competitive goals.

The new beginning is here and the TNZ board are implementing a strategy of open and transparent communication with its members and the future is looking brighter than it ever has.

communication & transparency...

Our philosophy as a governing body is based on two core characteristics, communication and transparency.  What we recognised was that without communication and transparency, members were not fully informed at all times and did not receive the full benefit and value that was due to them as members of a governing body.  Information is key and to communicate this effectively to the membership, whilst being transparent in our operating principles, is what we stand behind.

Representing a common goal...

In order for an organisation to progress it must align to a common goal.  The Taekwondo New Zealand executive promote a best practice attitude towards its governance and operations, one of aligning to a common goal so that the organisation moves in not only one positive direction but a direction that benefits its members first and foremost.

The future...

An exciting time ahead awaits as Taekwondo New Zealand begins its new journey to enhance Taekwondo in New Zealand.  A new structure with a new look and feel that members can rest assured will be representing their best interests.
