1. Collection of Personal Information
In accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (Information Privacy Principles 1–4), Taekwondo New Zealand (TNZ) collects personal information necessary for organising, administering, and promoting the TNZ Schools Championships.
By registering a participant for this event, you acknowledge and agree that TNZ collects and stores:
Participant Details: First name, last name/surname, school name, age, weight division, belt rank, and competition results/draws.
Parent/Legal Guardian Details: Full name, relationship to participant, contact telephone number, email address, and home address (for safety, emergency, and administrative communications).
2. Storage and Security of Information
All collected personal information will be stored securely by TNZ in accordance with Information Privacy Principle 5 (Storage and Security). Access is strictly restricted to authorised tournament officials and administrative staff. Personal information will be retained only as long as necessary for operational, reporting, and historical tournament recording purposes.
3. Publication of Names, School Affiliation, and Competition Data
By completing this registration, you grant permission to Taekwondo New Zealand (TNZ) to collect, process, and publish the first name, last name/surname, and school name of the participating child.
This information may be published in connection with:
Official tournament schedules, draw sheets, school team rosters, and live scoring displays.
Public results listings, school rankings, medal tallies, and post-event summaries published on the official TNZ website, social media channels, and print media.
Official archived records of the TNZ Schools Championships.
Parent/guardian contact details will remain strictly confidential and will never be published publicly or shared with unauthorised third parties without express consent.
4. Rights of Access and Correction
Under Information Privacy Principles 6 and 7 of the Privacy Act 2020, parents, legal guardians, and participants have the right to request access to, and request correction of, any personal information held by TNZ.
