Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations

To celebrate and further strengthen the people-to-people connections that have anchored a six-decade friendship between the Philippines and New Zealand. The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines continues to find new opportunities to build and strengthen the relationship between our two countries. Sport offers a way to build new connections and friendships.

Through the leadership of Grandmaster Sung Chon Hong, Taekwondo has grown to become the number one martial art in the Philippines. As the CEO of the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA), Grandmaster Hong has established a network of committees to promote and develop taekwondo. The PTA, supported by the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines and the Philippine Sports Commission, is pleased to share its knowledge with Taekwondo New Zealand.

The PTA is sending two of its Philippine National Taekwondo Team Coaches to share their knowledge with us in Poomsae and Kyorugi.

We wish to invite our Taekwondo New Zealand members to attend the training seminar and help us further strengthen our friendship with the Philippines.
